When you try to log in on the domain (Active Directory) computer, you get an error “The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed“. Reason for this error is that either there is another computer with the same name that has been joined the same Active Directory, or computer account has not been used in long time, so the computer account password has expired. You can of course still disjoin computer from the AD and join it again, but there is more simple way and requires less administrative effort.
Open Command Prompt with elevated privileges (Run as Administrator) and type the following command:
netdom resetpwd /s:
pd:* – Asterisk means that you will be prompted for the password and the password will not be echoed.
After password reset, restart your computer and log with your domain account.
